Our Staff

Amy, Doer of All Things

Amy has worked for Dr. Adams for more than 30 years. She has worked every position available at Sand Mountain Small Animal/ Equine Hospital, so it is safe to say she loves animals. She is married to Jason Smith, and they live on a farm in Snead. They have two sons, Ethan, 23, and Trevor, 12. Their farms consist of three poultry houses, cows, horses, and dogs. Amy has a special love for the boxer breed. Her new sidekick is her brindle boxer, Roan. Amy is like a mother to every employee and animal at our office, as she is nurturing and loving to every single one. It’s safe to say that throughout Amy’s life her love for taking care of animals has never changed.


Leah, Veterinary Technician Assistant

Leah has been a veterinarian technician for close to 10 years now, and she truly believes helping animals has always been her calling. Outside of work you'll usually find her riding horses, spending time with her husband, Charley, their daughter, Laramey, and stepson, Dax, or keeping up with her three very rambunctious German shepherds. She is absolutely fearless when it comes to grumpy pets and she feels incredibly fortunate to have a career doing what she loves everyday.


Meagan, Veterinary Technician Assistant

Meagan has worked at Sand Mountain Small Animal/Equine Hospital since 2014. She owns two dogs and three cats. Her hobbies include reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends. Meagan also enjoys terrorizing her co-workers with practical jokes and scares. She is very hardworking and makes everyone's day more entertaining with her antics.


Dalia, Receptionist

Dalia has worked at Sand Mountain Small Animal/Equine hospital since 2025. She is one of the receptionists making sure you get what you need for your fur animals when you come in. She has five dogs, nine cats, and one guinea pig. She loves having fun with her friends, going out, and playing with her animals. Dalia helps everyone feel welcome in our clinic as she is fluent in both English and Spanish. Hola mi nombre es Dalia soy la recepcionista y estoy aquí para ayudarle para lo que necesite.


Aubrie, Receptionist

Aubrie enjoys being a receptionist where she welcomes our clients, answers calls, and helps make each visit as smooth and stress-free as possible. She loves getting to know our patients and their families, and to her there’s nothing better than seeing happy pets and happy pet parents. She also helps the kennel techs in the back when needed. Aubrie is eager to know more about animals and to find new ways to help out. She is so grateful to be part of a team that’s dedicated to giving every patient the love and care they deserve.


Keely, Receptionist

Keely has worked as a receptionist at Sand Mountain Small Animal/Equine Hospital since 2022. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling whenever she has the chance. Keely has two Australian Shepherds, Reba and Rip, as well as a cow named Dolly. She is a quiet, yet friendly member of our team who welcomes every client with a smile and a great attitude.


Jade, Receptionist

Jade has been working at Sand Mountain Small Animal/Equine Hospital since 2020. She began as a kennel tech, and then after a short break returned as a receptionist. She adores all animals, but has a special place in her heart for cats. She has a beautiful family that encourages her daily. Jade strives to be a light in the office for you and your pets.


Kaleb, Kennel Tech

Kaleb is one of our newest additions. He has been working at Sand Mountain Small Animal/Equine Hospital since May of 2026. He is a kennel tech and office helper, he enjoys being around animals and building relationships with clients. Kaleb is very attentive to any job he is asked to do and works hard to make our office better. He has always been passionate towards animals from a young age, and aspires to one day become a veterinarian himself.


Emily, Kennel Tech

Emily has been working at Sand Mountain Small Animal/Equine Hospital since August 2025. She is a kennel tech. She has a huge heart for our pound kittens and loves helping them grow into loving cats. Her favorite part about her job is taking care of our pound animals and finding new homes for them.


Avari, Kennel Tech

Avari is a kennel tech. She and her husband, Russell, have two dogs named Thrasher and Chewbert and two cats named Vinnie and Sushi. Avari has been working at Sand Mountain Small Animal/Equine Hospital since 2024. She began as a receptionist and is now a kennel tech. Avari is currently in school at Snead State Community College to further her education and learn as much as she can about animals. She loves getting to come to work everyday and learn as much as possible and do what she loves most in the world which is taking care of and hanging out with animals.
